Fun walkabout; shame the weather wasn't warmer, but our guide rolled with it (we stopped for a warm-up about halfway through). Would like to do it again in warmer weather

Absolutely loved the event and loved the teacher. I learned a lot. She explains things well and never makes me feel dumb with my beginner questions. She's friendly, knowledgeable and if she doesn't know something she's says so and then tries to help figure it out. I love how she teaches then has a go take some pictures for what we just learned then come back discuss and do it again. This is my 2nd event with her and I plan to take more of her events.

Jessica's presentation, with prepared examples, was extremely helpful in suggesting ideas and approaches. She obviously knew the subject and how to present it clearly. I'll be watching for future workshops lead by her. And seeing a bald Eagle was a great bonus, even if it didn't have much to do with composition!

My grandmother took my grandfather and myself to the other side of Washington state to spend some time together for my birthday. I?m recovering from a brain injury, he?s entering dementia. My grandfather kept following the power lines along the landscape like he was collecting puzzle pieces. As the trip went on, the landscape became more obscured with my grandfathers memory and I realized we have more hazy skies ahead. I hope he can always find that piece that carries him through the fog.

Image taken 2/9/2024 1:00 pm II was inspired by some of the works by Cartier Bresson . I've had a vision of how I wanted to shoot the gravel bins , but couldn't find a satisfying angle. Then I saw it driving down the steep incline towards the parking area that day. The Angle. I framed the area and patiently waited until the right subject matter entered the frame. Bresson inspired Multiple Juxtapositions Soft curves , hard lines , straight edges, man made , nature , scale

I love chasing sunsets, especially around here because we have some pretty spectacular sunsets in the northwest. So I went out to do just that and happened to capture one with a cormorant flying close to the water. I really love the blue in this one.

I was photographing the inaugural first responders charity game. Thought it would be interesting to highlight the shooter by making the rest of the photo black and white. I usually pick one photo from each of the games I do for the same treatment. I also capture figure skaters and ballet dancers and in my opinion jockey is just a beautiful, its own type of dance.

First off, I have to say that I am not a "Birder". But I love challenging my photographic skills and abilities. The American Kestrel is not a big bird, and it is fast. So even when you know its takeoff is imminent, it is still hard to get a nice clear photo of the bird. This particular image was shot with a Canon R6 camera, with the RF100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens at 1/5000 sec, f/7.1 and ISO 4000. I used the animal eye-tracking feature of this mirrorless full frame camera, and was very plea

I had shot the sunrise at Horseshoe Bend the same morning and was hoping for a blazing sunset at this location after talking to the other photographers present at sunrise. Even with some clouds, we were not so fortunate and when the sunlight was casting on the water I switched to black and white mentality and was able to capture this photo. The timeless allure of steam trains and the bustling atmosphere of the railway added a touch of history and charm to my photography experience.
