We braved the cold for some nighttime photography fundamentals with Sama. Sama provided us with good explanations on settings for night pictures and gave us some challenging scenes to photograph. Definitely more of a challenge than a bright sunny day but I did learn some more about my camera settings and how to deal with low light.

I thought Sama did a great job of teaching the intro class. He broke down the three elements of the exposure triangle into manageable pieces and had us apply them in different situations. He always provided clear instructions and was patient with our novice questions. I would recommend his class to others who want to learn some basics.

Absolutely loved the event and loved the teacher. I learned a lot. She explains things well and never makes me feel dumb with my beginner questions. She's friendly, knowledgeable and if she doesn't know something she's says so and then tries to help figure it out. I love how she teaches then has a go take some pictures for what we just learned then come back discuss and do it again. This is my 2nd event with her and I plan to take more of her events.

I was initially driving somewhere else to take pictures because the sunrise was really nice, but it got so foggy that I could barely see in front of me, so I pulled over and decided to just take pictures wherever I stopped. I guess the birds also needed to avoid the fog because there were a lot of them standing around, and this group in particular made me think of a scene from Godzilla Minus One, so I wanted to make sure I got a picture of them.

My grandmother took my grandfather and myself to the other side of Washington state to spend some time together for my birthday. I?m recovering from a brain injury, he?s entering dementia. My grandfather kept following the power lines along the landscape like he was collecting puzzle pieces. As the trip went on, the landscape became more obscured with my grandfathers memory and I realized we have more hazy skies ahead. I hope he can always find that piece that carries him through the fog.

This was my first attempt at astrophotography in Brisbane and was a trial shot more than anything. I went looking for an eastern facing foreground knowing that the Milky Way core would be rising at around 10pm from the east, leaving me few options where light pollution wouldn't be an issue. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too harsh at vic point. I loved the foreground and the lightning in the distance on the horizon, and the satellite creaping in was another unexpected surprise with th
